How to Create a Brand Strategy That Gets Results

Updated: Aug 7, 2022

Creating a brand strategy can be overwhelming. There are so many factors to consider, and it seems like every business is doing things differently. How do you know what will work for your company? And more importantly, how do you make sure that your brand strategy actually gets results? In this blog post, I will outline the steps you need to take to create a successful brand strategy that will help your business stand out from the competition!

Why is Branding Important?

The idea of branding has been around for centuries. In ancient times, brands were identified by their mark — the sign they left behind on everything from pottery to coins and today we know them as trademarks or logos but back then it was more than just an aesthetically pleasing formality because these identifying signs helped people identify what type goods came out if a factory so that when one's produce got contaminated during storage many would still have enough meat until consumption could happen

Your brand is without question one of the most important aspects to any business. It provides an identity, and memorable quality for consumers who may be looking at the products or services offered by your organization and boosts marketing efforts with prideful employees excited about what they do every day!

I've broken down the ultimate brand strategy into 4 phases and im going to share them with you in this next section.

Phase I: The Essence

Starring in your own reality show is not enough to make you a star. You need something unique that other people want too!

A great brand starts with finding out what makes up the core of who are as an individual, then using those qualities in order to create something special and exciting for all those around you.

In order to find your essence, start by brainstorming a list of adjectives that describe you. Once you have your list, narrow it down to the three qualities that are most important to you. From there, you can begin to build your brand strategy around these qualities!

If you're having trouble coming up with adjectives, think about what others say about you. Do people often tell you that you're funny? Creative? Driven? These are all great qualities to build your brand around!

Now that you know what makes up the core of who are as an individual, it's time to start thinking about how you can use those qualities in order to create a memorable brand for yourself!

Phase II: The Essentials

The next step in the process of bringing your idea into reality is identifying where there may be demand for what you have created. This starts by researching and understanding who will purchase it, as well as how they can benefit from doing so with all its features or benefits listed out clearly on paper (or screen). If this sounds like something important that could help propel a business forward then keep reading!

Once you have a clear understanding of who your target market is, you can begin to think about what they need or want from a product or service like yours. This can be done by creating a buyer persona — a fictional character that represents your ideal customer. When thinking about your buyer persona, be sure to consider their demographics (age, location, income, etc.), as well as their psychographics (lifestyle, interests, values, etc.). From there, you can start to brainstorm how your brand can meet their needs!

Phase III: The Blueprint

Create a plan for your brand awareness strategy. The goal is that once completed, it should be easy and straightforward as well as effective in getting the desired result. You'll never wonder what to post again!

There are a few key elements that should be included in every brand awareness strategy:

- A clear and consistent message. What do you want people to know about your brand? This is your elevator pitch! Keep it short, sweet, and to the point.

- A distinctive voice. How will you communicate with your target audience? Will you be serious or funny? Formal or informal? Be consistent with the way you talk about your brand across all channels.

- A plan for content creation. What kind of content will you create? Blog posts? Videos? Infographics? Think about what is going to be sustainable for you as an individual or you and your team.

Phase IV: The Identity

To be successful, you need a strong and consistent image. This starts with your brand identity--the things that make people know YOU are as an organization or individual so they can remember what it is about YOUR work that sets it apart from others in its field ̶ such things like taglines/mottos etc., logos (especially if visual), websites...anything visual really!

Some things to keep in mind when thinking about your brand identity:

- Make it memorable! You want people to remember your brand long after they've seen it.

- Keep it consistent. Use the same colors, fonts, and style across all of your channels.

- Be true to yourself. Your brand should reflect who you are as a person or organization.
